No Lights 3 beeps and turns off

I just received a PS3 that does not have the YLOD but does turn on and gives me the three beeps and turns off. I can feel the fan running and can hear the dvd start but then I get the three quick beeps and it turns off. I never see the lights turn on at all, except for at the very end the hard drive lights blinks once before it goes dead. Is this a power supply issue or motherboard? Can it be fixed? I have the 40 GB model cechg01.

I dont know what is going wrong, i see too many posts this days with the same error and all the sudden, last thursday my original PS3 (60gb ver) come up with the same issue.

I havent turned it on for about 3-4 days, i've turn it on logged in to see the updates of the PSStore... and after a minute or two it suddenly died.

However,
I called sony and they said that with 147,5 euros they will replace it with another 60gb PS3 version (i made that clear cause i would rather eat my shoes than trade it for a slim)
and they will also give 1 year warranty on the "new" ps3.(refurbished actually).

They made it clear though, that they cant do anything about the files on my disk.
I will take it there next week cause i believe that i will face some issues cause the waranty sticker isnt on and i have disassembled my PS3 several times.

They guy on the phone was surprised though, when i told him that i have it 3+ years.........if that mean anything to you.
