I haven't messed with my 360 since I soft-modded it about 1 year ago. Recently, I have had trouble playing newer backups- the most recent one being Red Dead Redemption. When I put the disc in it just shows the Xbox symbol and doesn't do anything else. Is there some kind of updates that I should keep up with? Sorry if this is noob stuff but I just don't mess with my 360 enough to know what I need to do. I've seen something about boxes being banned but mine is not connected to the internet and I don't use Live.
BTW, my drive is a BenQ.

What firmware are you running. Easy fix, would be to update to LT 1.1 which boots all games.

Not sure. Guess I'll have to pull the drive to check. As I said, it's still on the original firmware I installed which was about a year ago. Looks like I'll have to find the guide again cause I already forgot what to do. LOL!

Gathering everything I need to update but I have a question- do I need to restore my drive back to original and THEN update it or can I just install LT 1.1 over what is already installed?
