not surprised, its been a year since they were released, and HTC have a lot more phones now, i expect a years supprt atleast, so if HTC do thats, alls good.
Don't confuse an OS update with product support. There is never a warranty that future releases of an OS will fit older hardware. They will keep supporting the older product with new patches to the original firmware if needed to correct problems or even with a possible hardware substitution if a proven physical or mechanical defect is discovered. They will "support" your older product to keep it in working condition.
