cutting a long story short, i have a 60 gbps3 i purhased it when they first came out and was on the internet everyday hoping someone will mod the software to play backups threw the harddrive, usb or even dvd/blueray disc.
anyways because of work and college i have not been online in ages and am completely behind on whats happening on modding the ps3, and when i do come online i never checked on the ps3 and am completely behind lol
i have now finished college and passed all my exams and want to get back on the scene and try and update myself..
so what im asking is has anything changed ?? can the ps3 play backed up games via usb or HDD ?? threw software mod or chippin ??
No, the PS3 is not hacked and no it cannot play back ups of PS3 games, however as your console is a 60GB, you can play back ups of PS2 games, stored on an external HDD.

haha thanks dude i think its because i stayed away from the ps3 i passed my exams =D
how can i play ps2 games on a external HDD ?? any links on how to do it, there was loads of ps2 games i did not manage to get so this seems like a good mod

I have an NTSCPS3, and would quite like to play my PALPS2 Games on it, is there a way of doing it without having an external HDD with the games backed up on it?

The best way, is to use the external HDD with Swap magic, the only other way is to open your console and install the switch mod, which i wouldn't recommend doing.
