I called Microsoft with my RROD 360. After putting me on hold, they told me that my warranty was over. I asked when it was over and they said June 26, 2010 at 12:00:00 PM. I called at 12:20. I am right now stuck with an RROD system because it is 20 mins out of warranty!

Anybody else denied warranty service like this? I find it ridiculous that they would do it. At least a day's time should be given such as if it expires on the 26th, it's expired on the 27th of whichever time zone you live in.

It's shitty and they could be more lenient in this case, but if they gave you 1 extra day, what would you do if it died 20 minutes after that extra day was over? lol. It's not really any different.

I would just call again and ask to speak to a supervisor. Say that the time you called does not represent the time it actually broke.

try to send it in over the xbox.com See if that works. It should work in your favor since you dont have to talk to anyone. It did for me on many occasions

If the warranty section of their site says its out of warranty then move on. Would you expect every company to extend the warranty just for you?

I actually agree with what you say! I would have argued with them til the end of the earth about that! The amount of time I've spent sat in a que to thier customer service is beyond a joke and telling them that if you hadn't been waiting for so long, you would've been dealt with sooner, sounds like a more than appropriate thing to say! ^^ better yet though, if the hardware wasn't so faulty in the first place, you wouldn't need to call them about a warrenty repair. Lol

Be brutal with them! You got nothing to lose now! Lol

Yeah, try an online service request, if that doesn't work...call back and speak to a supervisor.

"All drives should be updated to Lite Touch + (LT+) firmware if playing on XBOX live. Samsung drives and pre-78/79 Hitachi drives do not utilize AP 2.5. All other drives are considered to be detectable by Microsoft (YMMV). Make sure all rips are ABGX verified, contain SSv2, and patched AP2.5 (where needed). XGD3 must currently be burned on new drive with PC Burner Max firmware for 100% rip. All modded consoles can be potentially unsafe for use on XBOX live."

Thanks for all the help but online said to call Xbox and I kept going on hold to a supervisor and nobody actually picked up. I ended up fixing it myself, turns out that one side of the fan was burned out. I got another fan from a friend and it's working fine now. I still plan on lodging a complaint with Microsoft though, I was on line for at least 10 mins.

Here's a good thing to know about Warranty... Even if you are outside of Warranty, you can still argue warranty work from a company.

When dealing with warranty related issues with an old Sony Ericsson cell phone, I had phoned in about three or four months past my warranty expiration date, argued (with extensive details explaining my problem) that the problem that is plaguing the device is from poor/shitty/negligent manufacturing. And if that doesn't work, ask to speak to a supervisor and start the whole speech all over again. Repeat steps until someone eventually decides to help you (and if it doesn't work that one day, you can call back and try another day hoping new supervisors/managers are working).

In the end, you're really playing off of people's kind characteristics.

Theoretically, say you're XBox RROD with Synch/Eject error code 0102 (often related to the motherboard warping and thermal paste not being applied properly), you could argue Microsoft in allowing a warranty repair or replacement on your XBox. But you will probably have to prove that while opening your XBox, you in no way or manner altered or buggered any part.

I had a problem like that with the HP Pavilion DV2000 series laptop. It was known to warp and screw up the graphics card. I called and went all the way to the CEO of HP and I still was denied warranty. I was asked to pay $300 for the repair and according to the CEO, he was doing me a favor for dropping the price that low. For gods sake, I can get a better laptop for that price. I ended up heatgunning the board and selling it ASAP. Same with the 360, I ended up fixing it and xclamping it (Not hard, i've done it a lot before but it's easier to pack it and ship it) and sold it on ebay. Just to take advantage of Microsoft, I bought 2 broken consoles from ebay and made repair orders on them both.

Or you could just request a repair online and they will fix it for free anyway
