Hello, I have searched all over the internet looking for what I thought would be a simple answer. Here is the problem. I bought a ps3 awhile back that the drive wouldn't respond. I don't remember if the blue light would come on, but I don't think it did, it was like there was no power at all to the drive.
Anyway, I decided I wanted to get it back out and mess around with it. Well aftering getting it out I noticed that I have mixed up the daughter board with all other parts and am not sure which board is the right one. I noticed numbers on the board itself, but none seem to match the motherboard. Is there a way to tell by numbers or something which is the right one for my motherboard? If it were working to begin with I could just try them until I got it to work, but as I am using this to troubleshoot another problem, I don't know any way to do it besides having matching boards to start with. Anyway, thanks for your time and answers.
If there are serial numbers or date codes, this may give you a hint as to what one is the original...if you know you want to older one, use the one with the lower serial number.
Yeah, I put one in yesterday, and it played some demos. From what I have seen on the internet it won't play demos without the right daughter board installed, so I guess that is the one. Anyway, thanks for your input!
