Gonna go straight to my question with this one.
I've got an old Sammy TS-H943 drive, which sucks. Tray not opening/closing properly, and laser not reading all DVD's right. I have a new drive, Hitachi GDL-3120L. My Sammy is already flashed and can play backup's just fine (and most originals just fine).

Question: I wanna take my chipset from my Sammy and put it in my new Hitachi. Would the drives work fine and will my box run okay if I swap the drive and the chipsets?

I've never looked inside the Sammy nor the Shitachi. But since they are entirely different drives, I'm sure the chipsets won't fit one another.

I got it all figured out.
Unfortunately the two drives have the latch in different places so obviously swapping chipsets won't work. I finally spoofed the drive and got it working.

Currently running a Hitachi GDL-3020L or some shit with CFW iX1.51 spoofed as TS-H943A OFW MS25.
