Has anyone ever flashed a toaster with Lite Touch firmware? PM me if you can do this in your area. P.S. Are Eggo waffles backwards compatible?

"All drives should be updated to Lite Touch + (LT+) firmware if playing on XBOX live. Samsung drives and pre-78/79 Hitachi drives do not utilize AP 2.5. All other drives are considered to be detectable by Microsoft (YMMV). Make sure all rips are ABGX verified, contain SSv2, and patched AP2.5 (where needed). XGD3 must currently be burned on new drive with PC Burner Max firmware for 100% rip. All modded consoles can be potentially unsafe for use on XBOX live."

That's a stupid question. Everyone knows Eggo waffles are backwards compatible. But only if your toaster has an electrical transformer with a version of 7371 or lower. Then you can JTOAST it. A JTOAST toaster will toast unsigned waffes, unsigned toast, bagels that emulate waffles, EVEN generic waffles will toast in a JTOAST-er. You can even rip the fruit filling from pop tarts to get faster eat times. There is NO limit to a JTOAST-er.

If your transformer version is higher than 7371, you can only flash the toaster's slots to be able to accept burned toast.

Wonder bread is suggested yes but any bread works in theory. You can try wheat if your laser is watching its figure though it should work fine.

*Sighs* I hate these monotonous questions. If you had read the damn stickies you'd know that you can only use WB+C (Wonder Bread + Calcium) if you have a JTOAST toaster. On a normally flashed toaster, you have to use SLTT (Sara Lee Texas Toast) because it's twice as thick as regular bread. It's a dual layer of bread, which will hold the entire butter image. Just be sure to run your toast through ABGT (A Better Gooder Toast) to ensure that your butter is on there correctly, so your toaster won't get banned. If your toaster gets banned, you won't be able to connect to Toast Live, to eat with your friends, meaning you'll starve to death. Remember, these new redesigned toasters that came out a few weeks ago can't be flashed yet, meaning you'll have to buy a used toaster, which you'll probably have to have re-flowed.

Next time read the stickies!!!!!!

And for God's sake, don't use Raisin Swirl as your choice bread! Sure it has an awesome dashboard pattern available for it, but have you ever tried to remove burned cinnamon solder pieces from your jumper points? It's a nightmare... At that point you're better off getting a specialist to fix it. Preferably someone with knowledge of injecting Nutella wads into Crepes. ;-)

Just rolling with this while it's flying downhill. lol! No offense thread maker person.

Maybe the real question for eebeejay is: Butter, Margarine, or Jelly?

Dang! I totally forgot about the margarine factor. Stay away from it. The manufacturing process of margarine is not up to spec with that of butter, and doesn't adhere to the bread as well as butter. It could ooze down into your toaster's slots, potentially leading you to an instant ban from Toast Live.

Now before some of you chime in with your ridiculous arguments of "I've been using margarine successfully for two years", or "Country Crock works very well on Wonder Bread for me", keep in mind I'm speaking to new toaster modders, and trying to rid them of as many potential problems as possible. So if Shedd's Spread works for you, consider yourself lucky, but don't advise a noob to use it.

And please use unsalted butter.

Wow, This forum is full of information!
I thought I knew everything there was to know about toasting.

P.S. eebeejay this should be STICKIED, your tutorial is spot on!

P.P.S do you have a video of the process? I'm not sure which knife to use for the spread.

"All drives should be updated to Lite Touch + (LT+) firmware if playing on XBOX live. Samsung drives and pre-78/79 Hitachi drives do not utilize AP 2.5. Sorry for hijacking the thread but I have a question that is on topic. Where can I get the connectivity kit to flash my toaster and what is the best brand of blank dual layer bread? I want to back up all the bread I buy, just in case it gets scratched. Also, will opening up the toaster void the warranty? Thanks.
