No problem as long as it's on topic.

Where can I get the connectivity kit to flash my toaster
Walmart has them in stock now. You can get the basic model or for a bit more get the deluxe model that I use.

and what is the best brand of blank dual layer bread?
As stated in a previous post use Sara Lee Texas Toast. It's double thick.

I want to back up all the bread I buy, just in case it gets scratched.
Good idea. I did the same.

Also, will opening up the toaster void the warranty? Thanks.
Obviously yes it will. Use a heat gun to carefully lift the sticker, and you just may be all right.

You were lucky. George is the master, but he only does work in his local area, which you are lucky to be in.

you can remove the knob plate and the coasters on the bottom but that is all. After that you won't be covered for the 3 year warranty if your toaster gets too filled with crumbs. you can always spoof your toasting rack for a waffle iron. I hear waffle irons last longer than toasting racks anyway. Better yet just go with a Toaster Oven 3. They have DOUBLE the toasting power and are so much more durable. The selection of toasts to use with them isn't as great though.(example: no Texas Toast)

A Toaster Oven 3?!?! Are you serious? Yes the TO3 has double the toasting power, but absolutely NO bread manufacturers even attempt to tap into that power because it's overkill. All of that unnecessary toasting power was the reason it cost $60 at launch, when the Toaster Premium and Toaster Core were only $40 and $30 respectively. Even the Toaster Elite didn't cost anywhere near sixty. And yes, we know that the TO3 offers the Toaster Oven Network for free bread delivery, but it doesn't compare at all with a premium service like Toast Live one bit. Yes, we know in the beginning, the TO3 was a more reliable device, because of the Toaster's BCoD (Burnt Crumbs of Death), but the Toasters of recent years have alleviated that issue, let alone the new Toaster Slim. Also the TO3, as you stated, can't use Texas Toast, which is the whole point of this thread to begin with. People want to back up their toast so they don't have to eat the expensive 6¢ original slices.

We don't need another TO3 fanboy invading our forums! Hell, I'd rather get one of those motion sensing Woasters and softmod it, over a TO3.
