Hey Guys,

Question 1:
I see that iXtreme LT 1.1 is out. I did LT 1.0 on 3/8/10 for my 7485 drive. Funny that 11 days later a new rev comes out ;) Looking at the readme, it doesn't appear to have any real differences except for the BenQ drive support. I saw someone mention that 1.0 was flawed in other ways as well. Just wondering if it's worth upgrading? I've been playing my backups just fine with 1.0 and have not gone on live since the mod.

Question 2:
Looks like a new firmware is out for the consoles. Per Wikipedia (always a 100% reliable source :P ) it

-Allows up to two USB flash drives or external hard drives to be used for storing profiles, game saves, demos and more up to 16 GB each, 32GB combined.

-Allows content transfer to another attached storage device. Content transfer does not copy installed games.[3]

-Brings back to banned consoles the option to install games to hard drive in order to decrease load times and to make the hardware quieter.

So my question is does that new firmware allow banned consoles to save games as well? I was always under the impression that banned consoles couldn't save games. Could be wrong there.

TIA

I'm not really sure about the First question but I'm pretty sure that for question 2 you are talking about the new LIVE April 6th Dashboard(9599)update, which is not an actually firmware update. If you wanted to do that update you just need to get the files from online (sorry I don't have a link, but I'm sure a quick google search would find them) and than put them on either a thumb drive (how I did it) or you can burn it to a dvd. Yes banned consoles could not install (save) games to your console HDD UNTIL this patch.

I may be wrong, but I thought I remember that 1.0 was found to have detectable flaws so the coders went back and changed a couple of things around...had to do with drive timings or something?

"All drives should be updated to Lite Touch + (LT+) firmware if playing on XBOX live. Samsung drives and pre-78/79 Hitachi drives do not utilize AP 2.5. All other drives are considered to be detectable by Microsoft (YMMV). Make sure all rips are ABGX verified, contain SSv2, and patched AP2.5 (where needed). XGD3 must currently be burned on new drive with PC Burner Max firmware for 100% rip. All modded consoles can be potentially unsafe for use on XBOX live."

no, you are correct. The unbannable firmware wasn't unbannable because it was being detected LOL. Therefore 1.1 was released to fix the bug.
