YouTube hacked? Target: Justin Bieber videos

article published on 4 July, 2010

Twitter was alight this morning with complaints that Justin Bieber videos on YouTube were hacked, with a good portion of the singer's videos hacked to say "FAIL" or other messages. That kid and his family need to be executed.
Bad music is a crime against humanity.

Explains Mashable: "The bug allowed users to inject HTML (the code that most websites are built with) that could be executed on the site, whereas HTML within comments is supposed to be restricted. The hackers did everything from force pop-up messages to appear over the site declaring that it had been hacked to redirecting Bieber video pages to sites hosting pornography and malware."
I remember I did almost the exact same thing with HTML while trolling a fourm last yeah. My buddy and I pretty much shut them down it was great. Good to see this kid getting trolled.

"Whats a Beiber?" Is also a popular meme used in chatroomland to mock the fanbase of, and play down this flavor of the month. I guess it wasnt an effective joke if I'm the only one that got it...

I tried listening to some of his music. It sucked. He isn't even a cute kid. I don't see what the hell anyone sees in him but I'm pretty sure he's laughing all the way to the bank.

Meh, doesn't suprise me any at all. Celebrities such as these usually get attacks whether cyber or physical. Some crazed fan goes off the deep end, and it ends up on the front page of the newspaper. Oh wow, it's big news when a celebrity gets mugged by a hooker or even has an accident. Move along, move along. . .

No, he is just another robot built by the record companies; he does not go to the bank, he does not sleep, but he does get a BSOD once in a while; they always have to do a clean boot before a show just to be safe.

Just goes to show that the big websites are mostly insecure...sites like xhamster started blocking most everything malicious long ago; sites like youtube kept it in order to make sure that all the ads work; even if they were malicious...and now it is safer to look at porno than a video of a cat surfing. Amazing!

I would like to point out this attack did more then attack Bieber videos, This made Playlists marked Auto Private and made it were you couldn't flag video comments. Plus you couldn't view all the comments of Videos for awhile that Morning(July 4th)

How old is this kid? I personally have problems about targeting minors. Though I thought the North Korea bit was funny.

I don't care about the fact he's a manufactured product. The kids will get over him soon enough and probably laugh about it when they're adults.

NB: Sexualising little kids as many products do is also targeting minors in my book... but if he's just singing about holding hands and such, well...

One little girl singer in my country was paid out continually in a very nasty way by many of my, I'm sad to say, favourite comedians ("coz it was easy, and popular") just because she sang songs about "Strawberry kisses" and such... Come on, she was just a little kid. She didn't deserve to be paid out week after week on national TV for singing kiddy songs~ I was disgusted, it was stupid. Plenty of adults to poke fun at.
