Ps3 Broken laser or bad control board?

I have replaced the laser deck in my ps3 twice now. The same thing happened both times now. It will work fine for a week, then while i am playing a game it will freeze. When i restart the console the disc drive wont read any disc at all, it doesnt even spin them. Am I getting cheap lasers or is it a control board issue? Can anyone recommend where i can buy a good laser?

Well if it won't spin the discs, I would think of it as the drive itself failing, but usually I hear of PS3 lasers being replaced, and not the whole board/drive. Where have you been buying your other lasers at? Usual price I see them for is about $65, and that should be for a good one.

Any of the modchip stores online should have them.

I have been buying laser decks off of ebay for 55$ from an american seller. Its weird though the first time i replaced it it worked fine for a week. It play games and everything. Then when i was playing a game, the game froze and i rebooted to find it wouldnt read anything anymore. I had a warranty on the laser so i got another from the seller and the same thing happened.
