Hey guys

I'm new to the forums as well as to the whole Xbox 360 mod scene. I've done a bunch of research but there are a few questions that I couldn't find answers to that I'm hoping you guys will be able to help with.

The first is, what is the difference between a game being stealthed and a game being verified?

And, if I've played a few unstealthed games offline and then decide to go onto Xbox Live to play original games or even stealthed games, could I face the chance of being banned? Are the-powers-that-be able to see that I've been playing unstealthed games based on some information stored on my console and then punish me for it?

Lastly, if I do get banned, is the console banned, or is my Xbox Live account banned ... or both? And can a banned console still be played offline?

Thanks to those that assist.

Verified means that it matches a copy that has been uploaded to the ABGX database

Means that M$ **SHOULDNT** be able to see you are playing a back up.

Thanks miketrev. That makes sense.

Also, I beleive if you get banned its a console ban. Meaning you will have to buy another Xbox 360. As far as playing offline with backup games then playing online with a original games you should be fine. I do that with no issues thus far.

This is untrue as the xbox caches the info and send it to M$ next time you connect to Live. Your at just as much risk playing backup online.

I haven't been banned, and I've been doing this since Jan.

Judging by your Sig, you've already been flagged. Kreon is only capable of ripping ssv1. Wait until October or November when the ban-wave hits. I "thought" I was safe also until I got hit last year in early November. I had just upgraded from 1.6 to 1.61. I played a backup of COD MW2 offline a couple days after it officially released. I connected to live to play Gears(retail copy), and I got the dreadful message on my tv screen telling me my console was banned for terms of service violations. Long story short: Don't backup games with a kreon drive. Use an official 360 drive with 0800 firmware so you get ssv2.

OP: If you do get banned, you just can't play on live. It doesn't render your console useless. You can still play backups offline, but it corrupts your gamertag (if that matters) so you can't transfer gamerscore earned through a banned console to an unbanned console.

Thanks BiLLB, I stealth patch all my backups with SSv2 through ABGX. I guess we'll see come Oct/Nov if it was worth it and I'm sorry you got banned.

I'm sure this has been speculated about, but has anyone ever had a Gamertag banned after repeated console bannings? Is there a magic number so to speak? I've never come across that question.

"All drives should be updated to Lite Touch + (LT+) firmware if playing on XBOX live. Samsung drives and pre-78/79 Hitachi drives do not utilize AP 2.5. All other drives are considered to be detectable by Microsoft (YMMV). Make sure all rips are ABGX verified, contain SSv2, and patched AP2.5 (where needed). XGD3 must currently be burned on new drive with PC Burner Max firmware for 100% rip. All modded consoles can be potentially unsafe for use on XBOX live."

You can still back up your games with a Kreon. All you have to do is make sure you patch your games with SSv2 manually through ABGX. I actually find this process easier over using an 0800 and paying the extra money for a kit. I already had the Kreon so there is no sense in letting it just sit there. I have feelings about the whole playing offline thing but don't want to contradict miketrev and eebeejay seeing as they seem like people that know enough not to run bad copies through their boxes. As for me, I've played plenty of bad rips offline and haven't been banned. I may be banned by the end of this year. M$ seems like they like to wait and build up a lot of flags for a specific violation/mistake that we make. This year they will probably tack on that whole thing with offline plays. They like to make a point with everything they do to scare people out of doing certain things.
