what are my options here? soldering is out of the question since ive never soldered anything or have the proper equipment. is there such thing as a 4 pin connector that has external power that i could just plug into the wall then plug the fan into it?

You can wire into the power from the DVD drive to get power to the fans. Same as the 12v fan mod.

i wouldn't do it you risk shorting out the traces in the main board my top post helps. because those 4 post circled in green is what was ripped out.

it might be when it was ripped out it also destroyed the traces, so the above wouldn't work at all.

You could do it with pretty much any 12v adaptor, your fan would run at full speed all the time though.

you cant just buy one, you have to become an electrician. red is positive/black is negative(for Fan). black \w white strip is positive, Solid black is negative(wall outlet plug)
