Well if you are encoding to VCD then I am not one bit surprised, TMPGEnc is in no way the best encoder but its the best for VCD, TMPGEnc Plus might be a better option maybe. The best thing to so is use DVD2SVCD with CCE SP to make SVCD but unfortunately SVCD doesnt play back in as many dvd players as VCD and CCE SP costs like $2,000

Ok this may be a dumb question to some of you but I can not find the answer anywhere. Lets say I have a bunch of small clips that go together but were saved individually, is there a way to put them together? Like a software to line them up somehow? Thanks in advance.

For AVI use VirtualDub and for mpg use TMPGEnc, click file - mpeg tools and click the merge & cut tab!

Hi, everyone, i have a question.
(Thanks, Dela, for the guide to burning AVI to VCD.)
My problem is when I finished encoding a movie (AVI file) I tried playing it on TMPGEnc. and even my Windows Media Player and there's no video or sound. The original unencoded AVI file works fine on Windows Media Player but the encoded one (MPG) doesn't work. It just plays without any video or sound.
Can anyone or Dela help me?

well for the unencoded file i have the proper codecs (xvid)...it's just when i encode with the TMPGEnc it does not show the video or audio.
Do i need a codec for the encoded mpeg?

Try clicking option - environmental setting. Click the vfapi plug-in tab and right click DirectShow Multimedia FileReader and click higher priority until it is 2!

Hello, All.
Dela, thanks for all of the helpful information that you have shared. Howsoever, I'm still a little perplexed as to the AVI to Cd-R formality. Can you or someone else tell me how to go about taking an AVI format and changing it to either a CD-R or CD-RW, please??? Thanking you in advance.

Hallo,
I tried to use TMPGEnc for creating a MPEG 1 file. The movie is about 4 min. The system renders up to 2 min and than crashes down. I used all tips I read here, but nothing helps. Is it a problem with the harddisk? Is it nessecary to use 2 harddisks?
I use: Athlon XP 1,66 Mhz, ATH Board ASUS A7N8x/Lan, 512MB RAM, 80 GB Harddisk Barracuda 4 7200 U, Gra AGP 64 MB GeForce4 MX 440.
I updated all the software.
Tips?
Oliver
sorry for my poor english knowledge

Hallo Dela,
yes it reboots. One time a message appeared: "At adress 01010054. Write error occured against adress 00000000". I run a memory checker yesterday ... no mistakes found.
