Basically no you cant because you have described the audio falling out of sync, thats an extremely hard problem to fix, especially with mpg files!

I tried it once as a VCD file but I does not play on other computers, it seems only to work on the computer which i used to burn the VCD with, not sure why that happened... any guesses?

it depends on what you try to play it on on another computer like in some other computers u have to go onto the VCD disc and actually play the avseq01.at file in the mpegav folder because it wont just load the cd like other players!

dela, since you took the time to go into great detail about the AVI to cd, what all do i need to put movies on a vcr tape? i belong to a movie site that charges 19.00 dollars a month for movies. i have them on my computer, i would like to show them on my tv and record them in my vcr. i need a video out card(tv out). what else do i need. seeing as how i pay for these movies i am not stealing them. thanks

dela, i forgot. i tried to use virtual dub and it said it could not open the movie file. said it was restricted, locked or unsupported. the movie is fine, i have watched it on my cpu. i went to the site you suggested and all i got was a chat room, no download. thanks oh yeah, it says microsoft owns the software or code and prevents third party usage.
