Fixing dvd key on Jtag nand

I inherited a Jtag xenon two days ago and the DVD drive is not working. I was Not given the original Nand dump. I believe that the previous owner got this Xbox banned and forgot to use the original DVD key when they added the last KV. Is it possible to fix this DVD drive? I know I don't need a DVD drive but I would like to fix it if possible. Right now I get the "Play DVD" option for all retail games i put in the drive. This is my first Jtag xbox so I'm not quite sure where to begin.

You can but you'll need a nand dump. I haven't had to use it myself yet for making a nand backup, but I believe Flash360 lets you make a backup of your nand.

You need that dump and you need to boot in to xell (power on with eject button) to get your cpu key.

With your key and dump you can use 360 Flash Tool and it'll give you your dvd drive model and key.

Thanks, I was looking at that tool but I wasn't sure if it would do that or not. I'll try it out.

Does work, I used it to dump nand, flash xell and flash new freeboot version.

Well i got a full dump from 360flash and the cpu key and entered them in 360 flash tool, but it displayed a liteon 74850c drive. The drive tray in the box is a hitachi style.

Even though it seemed wrong I patched the bin file with the model and key that flash tool showed and flashed the Nand with it. All went well but the DVD drive obviously still doesn't work.

Any ideas where i went wrong?
Should i try the displayed key with hitachi as the model?
