I had my falcon jtagged for months and it worked perfectly. Then I got a ton of random e79's and got pissed off.

So I re-did all of my soldering. It is PERFECT this time lol. Now I can't get anything to boot.

Also, the ROL is completely blank now, no lights. It powers the xbox on, just will not show any lights. Wtf.

Someone help, I'm gonna kill Gates lol

Regards

Budro

It's obviously not perfect or it wouldn't E79. Check your diode connections and make sure the pads are still there.

I have had this before with a bad NAND write, never afterwards though. Can you get to xell at all? is it freeboot or XBR?

It is perfect, continuity says so. Diodes are fine, I tested.

No xell, I'm attempting XBR first then freeboot.

EDIT: To clarify, xell is installed, but it won't boot.

BTW: I've tried jtag, reverse jtag, 100 ohm, 330 ohm, and no resisters to jumper, and all a no-go. Only thing I have not tried yet is boxxdr's method (I'm getting ready to if this doesn't work though.)

Falcon xbox.

E79 is always due to bad jtag wiring. Since it booted before we know the flash was good. If it was perfect, it would work.

Quick question, the trace to FT1U2 or whatever the alt point for DB is broke, so I repaired it with a trace pen. However, I think the conductive pen might be grounding it as I had to scrape the board a bit previously. Would that cause my problems?

yeah I had the same issue. I would try soldering it to the back of the board. That is what I did.

I re-soldered once more. The continuity of all of the joints/connections checks out (eg I can trace them to where they are known to travel and get the correct resistance).

I ended up reverting to "normal" jtag on top of the board with the only point beneath the board being that of FT1U2.

Ring of Light still isn't working... I don't get it. It certainly is a pain though.

Regardless, last time I tested xell, I did not get an e79. In fact, I didn't get anything. So, being that my RoL is busted, I would have to assume that it was probably 3RLoD like usual. Wouldn't surprise me, I was simply trying to get anything but e79.

So, hoping that the physical connections are all sorted out now, I flashed XBR 3. As we speak, I'm waiting about 10 min to let any volotile memory dissapate, then I'll attempt a boot.

Crossing my fingers on this one!

EDIT: No go. Mother #$%^@!
Going to remove the 330 Ohm resister and go to straight jumper again and see how that goes

lol, belive it ir not, i now have one too! Exactly the same, only middle light comes on! Ive tried different ROL and it does the same, maybe this is the RROD of a JTAG 360!

I was trying to fit a new sync button, first it just kept restarting after about 5 seconds, did that about 4 times now just the middle power light comes on. What are the odds.

Ive checked all my JTAG / Sync button solder point visually, i left my multimeter on overnight so the batteries are dead so cant test the points.

Ah so I am not just crazy lol.

Btw, my jtag is done for. Won't power on at all, ever after a successfull nand recovery procedure.

It was fun while it lasted, time to find another jtag :(

I have an update to this.

I saved the jtag lol so it powers up again. I am starting to get very angry about this all though haha

So, I went to a 360 repair shop. I know the people there, so they were ok with doing the soldering themselves because I won't tell haha, so they did that. Then I flashed my nand to my previously working image, and STILL no go! WTFZ?!?!?!

So, I'm about to give up on the single nand concept and buy a Cygnos. Totally worth it for saving my jtag.

Btw, I got another jtag anyways. Traded this kid for a computer I don't use :D best trade ever. He also reflowed another xbox of mine that is jtaggable, so I'm gonna jtag that now too! :D

Anyways, this is my last shout-out for help. If no one has any ideas about it now, then I'm just gonna buy a cygnos and get it over with lol

Budro
