Hi any help or info would be smashing,

I have a Xbox elite with 83850c Liteon Drive, It is currently on 1.6 Iextreme, ( currently have to boot wave 4 games I think using 0800 boot disc) at the moment I am just curious and want to get a better understanding before I upgrade my firmware.

* First If i dont update, does Iextreme 1.6 still boot the newer wave games (obviously using the 0800 disc *

* secondly I gather the new firmware is called liteon 1.1?, now to reflash a firmware, are there any steps that need to be skipped while flashing, or is it flashed in the same way a stock drive would be?

* is it worth the jump from 1.6 to the new liteon 1.1 ?

I used Jungleflash last time, without the hardware kit, just connecting via Sata.

Thanks very much for your time reading this.

Yes, like miketrev said.

Then you're good to go. You obviously don't need additional hardware. Re-flash your original stock firmware back onto it, then flash iXtreme LT 1.1 to it.

Just to note, after you flash it to 1.1, is it correct that you won't be able to extract the key again with the new firmware?

Just asking to make sure you keep the key.bin saved. If I'm wrong with the assumption then please let me know. Thanks.

The "Dummy from iXtreme" function was removed from iX LT so you won't be able to do that via JF anymore. Like widowmaka said, you'll need to cut traces and probe or LT switch again if you lose your DVDkey/firmware bin.

Sorry on bumping an old post but I just wanted to make sure.

Could I extract the key from an 83850c v1 w/ ixtreme 1.6 or 1.61 with just JF and not have to cut traces or a probe?

Thanks in advance.

1.6 and 1.61 still had that feature its only the LT firmwares that require a full dump.
