i have a jasper console there with no dvd drive.the guy who owned it made a complete mess of the dvd drive trying to flash it and threw it out after he had burned a hole in the dvd drive mobo trying to solder an lt chip onto it. :( is there any way i can get the key off the mobo ? its a jasper with 9199 dash. any help would be appreciated.thanks.

seriously? thats a shame cause this unit is only a month old. would have been nice to get a new 360 for free.might hold onto it though, might be able to get the key off it 1 day :) heres hoping

do you know if he dumped the firmware??,,you said he screwed it up flashing it and soldering it,,if he has the firmware saved somewhere you hope,,then you can just get another drive and flash it and your good to go,,,

I would probably just put it back together, get the reciept and take it back to the store in the box saying it was broken when you bought it. They probably will just take your word for it and give you a new one. If you don't have the reciept then that's unfortunate.

he didnt get firmware he cut the wrong traces then he tried to fix it with solder then he threw the dvd mobo in the bin with a hole in it

Put a drive in it, put it back together and put a good sticker on it. M$ can pay for the damages ;)
Trust me, send it, they will fix it. Just send in a repair saying it's 3 red light error.
