OK so to start it off MY Bf xbox has gotten the RROD he has sent it out to get repaired (not by microsoft) and it came back fixed and it only worked for 3 months. Now he has got the RROD again so I tried to fix it I had upgraded his fan for an Talismoon legacy with the nitro switch. I put in the fan without the nitro switch and the xbox ran green lights and it woked fine. so i wanted to install the switch and I somehow blew the Mosfet chip that runs the fans. So I got a Replacement chip (this one the new mosfet for the fan) and the xbox was back to working fine I didn't install the nirto switch I just installed the fan the regular way ( the 3 pin), Ok so the next day the bf was playing the xbox and it was fine so the day after that the xbox was keeped freezing on him and it gave him the 4th light so he shut it off and later truned it back on (like 4 hours later) the green lights came on then the 3 red rings, So I tried to re-replace the thermal paste (Artic Silver) and the xbox still gave me the RROD and Now the Fan shut off and it won't run, The Hana chip gets really hot and the gpu gets hot as well but the cpu doesn't.
Is there anything that I can do to fix this I don't know what is wrong I followed the instructions and I reflowed it (without the heat gun just the xbox's fan)it was working fine but then it's not. what am I doing wrong :(
He had gotten repaired by gamesagalore.com cause he didn't have warranty on it they charged $60 but then we got the xbox back a month later it only worked for 3 months.
Your motherboard needs a reflow...sounds like you have bridging under the cpu/hana chips. Since it seems you're familiar with doing repairs on circuit boards, try w00ly's heat gun method. Make sure you concentrate the heat on the problem problem chips...and be wary of being exact on timing. You can buy a heat gun at most hardware stores in the paint section. I bought one at harbor freight for $10....and a I bought a wagner at home depot for $30. Check link for details.
"All drives should be updated to Lite Touch + (LT+) firmware if playing on XBOX live. Samsung drives and pre-78/79 Hitachi drives do not utilize AP 2.5. All other drives are considered to be detectable by Microsoft (YMMV). Make sure all rips are ABGX verified, contain SSv2, and patched AP2.5 (where needed). XGD3 must currently be burned on new drive with PC Burner Max firmware for 100% rip. All modded consoles can be potentially unsafe for use on XBOX live."

LOL yeah Im a Big Gamer myself if I had the $ I would buy him the New Xbox Slim, I tried thishttp://www.scribd.com/mobile/documents/2...secret_passwordfix cause the motherboard he has is a Flacon and it doesn't have the X clamps, this fix actually worked the 1st time I did it but I still don't know why the fan won't run ??? but I'm going to get the heat gun see if it works.
i was reading the website you posted where he sent it to,i giggled like a lil school boy on this
How long have you been around?
We began repairing the original MicrosoftXbox 360 consoles back in 2005, and have been offering repair/refurbishing services for all video game consoles that have been released since.

So I guess they started repairing on launch day, huh? Nobody even needed a 3rd party repair in 2005, seeing as to how the console launched with 6 weeks remaining in 2005. ALL consoles were under warranty.
