Import Games on a Modded 360

Hey, sorry to be a n00b, but i tried googling a bit to no avail. I recently gave my RRoD'd Xbox to a friend of a friend who said he could fix it. he didn't know what exactly was wrong, but was interested in trading his xbox which was modded, but banned for live, for my broken one, that wasn't banned, and since i didn't play online, i went for it. I'm not to informed on the Xbox scene, i've modded a Wii, a PS2 and PSP, but no 0 about Xboxes, so i'm not sure, but I know mine can play back-ups. I tried a burnt copy of Dragon Ball Raging Blast NTSC and it worked fine, so I wanted to try Hokuto Musou, which is a Japanese game. On the menu screen, the game art loads and displays the name, but when I try to start, it says that the disc is from the wrong region. I know on modded Wiis you can play other region games, so I was wondering, is there anyway to do this on 360, like custom firmware or anything like that?

Sorry about the first little rant... lol In answer to your question, no you are not able to play out of region games on the console which you have, and most likely wont be able to with that system. There is a process to apply a hacked firmware to the system to allow you to play out of region games aswell as do other things, but the requirements are very specific. Here is a tutorial on how to do the hack which has a list of requirements at the top. I hope my reply is more helpful to you than the above one... -_-'

That is out of order, wabashman gave the correct answer, if the OP searched on here for the answer, he would of found it.
This has been asked and answered multiple times (the same as "How do I flash my xbox, how can I unban myself" etc). If the OP wanted the answers that bad, he should of searched.
End of the day, he provided the answer question, the OP didn't ask for an explanation so he didn't get it. Maybe if he did ask for an explanation, he would of got (" and if not, why not?" etc.)

The last line of the OP's post asks about custom firmwares, or "anything like that". Do correct me if I'm wrong, but freeboot has similar properties as custom firmwares on consoles such as Darkalex's custom firmware for the PSP. It's basically the original, which has been changed, stripped, patched, whatever, to enable the system do things it couldn't do before.
If the OP had asked if he could do it with that particular console then yes, the answer prob would have been "no".

I appreciate the fact that he has helped people out, but since elitemod scene forums opened up all he has been doing is spamming these boards with links to promote his/jpizzle's forum and not actually helping people out here. Please, do link me to a post in the last couple of months where he has replied and it been useful info. A couple of months ago I asked a question here and low and behold, wabashman posts a reply saying something to the effect of, for all your xbox modding help, talk to the experts here. I don't want to chat on an irc, or sign up to another board if I can help it. I'm content here and have always got good info from the guys who used to post here. Tbh, I'm quite sick of alot of the senior members that hang around in the 360 forums here, because they all seem to think they're too high and mighty to help out the newbies... -_-' I can browse around the other forums here and there are actually people helping each other out. That's amazing....
What ever happened to the good old days where you could sign up to a forum, ask a question and get the support you expect, instead of getting cold, simple responses and still not have your question properly answered? No wonder half the people who sign up here, we never see again.

yea, i guess my 20+ tutorials are of no use, and every other post ive made on here. and 'no' is the correct answer, as freeboot isnt a firmware. so to reiterate myself, no he cannot play import games on his console. hell, even on his specific console he cannot play import games since its banned and wont be eligible for freeboot, xbr, any other custom OS. so i guess in other words, whenever you feel like you are going to be useful and give information that will help the guy STFU.
PS. when i started doing this shit, i researched for days and days before asking any questions to ensure i know wtf i was talking about to begin with (just so you know).

wabash's reply was correct and there was no need to explain about JTAG\homebrew because the OP stated in his post that his 360 was BANNED and any BANNED 360 is not JTAGable. You were trying to sound smart so you gave the OP a bunch of useless (to him) information along with the "no" that wabash had already given. I'm sorry if this isn't the tender and loving environment you need but if you want someone to hold your hand join a daycare. We actually help people get things done here and over at elite mods. By not holding someones hand we are teaching them to teach themselves but we are still here to answer Q's when they get stumped. Oh yea and one more thing, I don't know you and you don't know me so keep my name out your mouth DOUCHE!

Geezzz I've seen a lot of hostility on this forum lately. Are the newbies going mad? What's going on with all the hate? Either way things seem a little crazy around here.
And just like wabashman, jpizzle and eebeejay I did my research before I ever posted a question or tried to find the easy way out. To many people join just to get a quick answer and are on their way. These three have helped me countless times with problems or questions I've had and I return that knowledge to the board to try and help others. I've gotten short answers from them before and the proper response would be to ask another question.
I do find it rude to criticize someone else about how much work they put in. Honestly I've never even seen Link on here until today.
Can't we all just get along?
