Is there such a thing or am I dreaming. We have a PS3 that we bought last year screaming out for homebrew akin to the 3 PSP's that sit beside it.

EDIT: Sorry admin - just read the stickies - delete the thread.

sorry!

Grateful to all p0sitive h4ckers everywhere.

You are on a forum, you don't need to use txt speak :)

Also as regarding Hombrew, you either need Other OS as Sudds said, or you can use BD Java, other than that, there really isn't any.

You might be able to get into the development of minis for about $2000...Sony sells test units plus all the various tools, guides, etc that you should need; all in one package that (last time i checked, about a year ago) costed only $2000.

Thanks guys. I am a luddite and it took me nearly a month to flash our PSP's with homebrew. I thought that was complicated - but changing the Operating System - that sounds frickin scary.

BD Java?? The textspeak made more sense to me there - I am ashamed to admit. Guess I have to research this a bit more.

PS: I think afterdawn forums are the best source of info available. keep up the good work posters.

I thought by now it's a well known fact that the PS3 is THE unhackable system. Any and all exploits are worthless thanks to Sony. In any case, there's nothing on it that can't be done already.

Java runs on Blu Ray, a while ago, people were able to utilizes the structure and run homebrew apps of a thumb drive, Sony blocked this method for the thumb drives, but if you can afford it, you can still run this homebrew of Blu Ray Disc's.

Also if you have a 60 GB PS3, you will be able to run PS2 back ups and homebrew of it.

If you have Other OS, you will be able to run quite a lot of Emulators of it.

This thread has nothing to do with exploits, its regarding Homebrew.
Also, the PS3 may be very secure, but its not unhackable.

Anything can be hacked, the PS3 included...but sony can just patch the holes with a mandatory firmware update, so hacks never get completed before they are outdated. Once the PS4 comes out and sony stops supporting the PS3, we will see as much hacking on the PS3 as we saw on the PS2.

BTW...the BD "home brew" route is actually very powerful. Netflix was able to make an HD movie streaming service app with this; so we know it can do more than the average home brew app does.
