Most iPhone users are satisfied with their AT&T service

According to a new survey released by the Yankee Group, 73 percent of iPhone owners are very satisfied with their AT&T service.
The overall satisfaction rate for AT&T subscribers is 68 percent, while 69 percent of general smartphone users say they are satisfied with the carrier.

wow, how come i wasn't invited to participate in this poll?? ATT is P.O.S, I wouldn't be surprise that they paid ppl off just to say that the service is great, what? They paid them 5 bucks off for their next cycle or something? for your info, ATT sucks at what they do.

I currently am with Sprint, but AT&T is known to have the best signal coverage in my area. (Northern MN) I'm just too much of a cheapskate to pay the premium they charge, plus I get a huge biz discount with Sprint.

It really depends on where you are. I had Sprint for 9 years and AT&T for 1. AT&T has been better for me and I don't have any complaints.

These are the kinds of people that buy iPhones, complain about missing features, and then brag about how their phone is the greatest thing since the big bang. These people are probably dropping calls on the way to the survey, and unable to connect to the internet while waiting for the survey...and then they say they are very satisfied with the service, as it is even better than the phone.

Well come on, they shelled out alot of money for an iphone, and most likely signed a two year contract. They don't want to look like idiots for jumping in without thinking. Its hard to admit sometimes when you've made a mistake, we all do it. I've been with AT&T in the past, and wouldn't go back. It could've just been the area I'm in, but definitely wasn't pleased with their service.

I had AT&T and went to Cingular and then switched to Tmobile and then back to cingular and then AT&T. Now for me AtT drops my call all the time, T mobile just dont have good coverage in my area (Michigan ann arbor) reason i was with AT&T (Cingular) so long because the old commercials of "The LEAST drop calls" which it worked for me for a long time until 2008, or so when they coming out with Iphone's then my calls started to drop in 2009. I had Iphone, iphone 3g, when i had 3g i get dropped calls ALL THE TIME...which it pisses me off. So i jumped to Sprint for EVO, and even though Sprint don't have GREAT coverage, even when i'm down to 1 bar, it doesn't drop my calls, actually stays pretty clear for me and the other end of the conversation. PLUS i get 23% discount with Sprint from work so end up paying WAYYYY cheaper than crappy AT&T. Only reason AT&T is doing so well is because Iphones is keeping them alive

Been with AT&T a long time since before Cingular and I cannot complain. I have gotten good cell phone service everywhere I have traveled and while I do not get 3G everywhere I have traveled I still get a good connection.
Oh and if you have ever called customer service you will sometimes get a satisfaction survey and one of the questions is rating over all service quality including cell phone signal and such. I find that the bitching about AT&T's horrible service is unwarranted and while their data network still needs a bit of improvement it is pretty damn good.

Neither do my dozen or so friends who have them (and iPhones, including several iPhone 4s they also don't have antenna issues with). Of course, this is also mostly in Seattle, which is supposedly one of the best coverage areas for AT&T.
Not surprisingly, most of the WORST complainers about any product are likely the people who never even wanted to try it (for whatever reasonable/unreasonable thought).

If you live in a rural area, you are lucky to connect, and if by chance you do connect it is dial up speed at best, so where did they get there people for this survey. I guess living in a rural area, we are even lucky to have a data connect, dropped calls are all the time, text messages, hey at times it takes me a couple days to get voice mail, text messages, but I guess we feel lucky for it to work once in a while, so why should people in rural area's even buy a smart phone, or try to download music, video's? We pay the same price but get very poor service. They encourage you to use the network, make more things available, then once you get use to using the service, they want to charge extra for using the service, and leaves you with a feeling this is the best it is going to get. So are better or worse providers out there that give better service for rural areas? AT&T seems to care less, even though they sure collect for your service every month, and now if you change and go back you are going to pay for bandwidth.
So are there any providers out there that will give a data connect faster then dial up, I would love to know.

No one asked me!!!
I had an old NOKIA 6160m PCS with an awesome AT&T plan and had great coverage from inside my house. My wife had the Nokia 3395 from Cingular, with "No Service" displayed on the screen (you could not use the phone in our area). When Cingular (AT&T) merged they began to shut down the PCS band and required me to change to a plan that didn't even come close to my PCS plan, and wanted me to downgrade to GSM (before 3G was available).
I tried to give AT&T the opportunity to keep me as a customer by emailing them and calling 611 to complain, sharing how I can't hold on to a call on any GSM Nokia Phone in my house and dropping calls outside as well (even though coverage maps showed BEST). The answer I got was, "Go Outside". That's fine until the temperatures are in the 20 degree range, then my lips stop working.
After months of frustration (I had been a PCS customer with AT&T for 10 years) and being ignored and forced to switch, I cut AT&T. I switched to Verizon (my first free Verizon phone came with the now defunct Analog AMPS which was the only CELL signal available during my travels on 395 or I-5 in California and rural areas of Nevada at that time). Verizon phones work inside the house, and don't drop calls. Verizon works along the I-80 corridor between Truckee and Nevada State Border, an area where AT&T does not work. I can drive to Verdi/Reno from Lake Tahoe and converse the entire trip, something AT&T subscribers can not do.
AT&T is the most popular carrier in Lake Tahoe (Nevada Side), because in the early 2000 years Verizon dropped calls constantly. Around 2005 they solved those problems, but most people have remained on AT&T and have come to accept the dropped calls.
The AT&T signal here has improved a little, but 3G keeps switching off, and switching to the voice band. I purchased a NOKIA GSM/3G phone for my Dad last December, because of its reception quality, and he can hold onto a call when in my house, but it constantly switches from 3G to standard, whereas my Verizon LG phone has 4 bars of 3G majority of the time in the house, and web browsing is a breeze.
One other disturbing piece of news is AT&T GSM has been Hacked for Eavesdropping purposes. See the article below:

I was part of a survey.... I told them how much my service sucked.... I guess they must have thrown my answers out to make their ratio better.
