startview 5 / the box usb

have a starview 5 usb "the box" which we watch a channels through, no hardrive or hd ready...it has a usb connection at the rear..how do i record tv channels from this? seperate hardrive? and if so recommend one?

you can either use a usb device like a 8gb one or an external usb hard drive with its own power supply.

But i would not go out and buy these as all of the Uk is in the process of been changed over to N3 which is a new encryption so as soon as you get your new red card from your cable provider your box will be dead and only fit for the bin.

So my advice save your money

had my new card but no using it, watching all channels on my usb box. no prolems as yet, straight feed via cable internet link.

yep dont worry because you are not using your card means nothing your box will go soon you get between 4/5 weeks maybe more maybe less then you will start losing channels when you do start that will be the end of your Starview.

I suggest you put your card into your subbed box or that will not work either after you have been switched over to n3 as soon as the card is activated you can disconnect that box again

so is there a new code over overide the nigra 3, today...started to loose channels, so is there anything i can do?

there are no more codes keys or firmware for older boxes ya have to buy a new box look up Kryptview A780 posts or starview 6 ones

if you have an ould usb stick use that for now
but dont waste money getting a new 1
unless you plan on buying a starview.6
