Which Xbox 360 is hackable

I am planning to buy an xbox for my son in his birthday and of course I would like to use the downloadable games from the internet, therefore, I would like to know which xbox 360 is hackable for example the new one in the market is the slim and also I found the elite one for sale in the internet but I have been told the new ones are not hackable, so before I buy one would somebody please answer my question?
Note: I am sorry if there is a post that answering the same question, I tried to search the forums buty it doesn't have a search engine.

Any model EXCEPT the new Slim. The Slim may become hackable at some point, but for now, it's the one to avoid.

Yes there is a search option right next to the search button . Secondly its against AD rules to talk about pirating copy righted material . So do us a favor and keep that out of AD .

I don't believe this has been asked that many times so I don't think search would of brought any usable results on this one.

Just edit your post otherwise a mod will end the thread . As eebeejay said slim is the only console at the moment not moddable . Really you wont know what drive your going to get till you open the console up . Xbox Arcades are cheap . At the moment liteon benq and samsung drives are moddable and can play "Back ups" safely online . So long as they have been checked with ABGX properly .

I am confused now, should I edit the thread or not.
Since the thread is still a live let me ask more questions:
Rastadave, after searching I found that MS had the following models, arcade the cheapest but doesn't have HD, pro with 60gb, elite 120gb, and the new one slim with 250gb, but also I found that MS had a limit edition model for elite with 250gb, tommorow I will go to check one of the deals that is for elite 250gb and I hope it could be modified.

As i said, don't edit the thread, I have not seen this asked before on here so it will help peeps who search for the answer. Its a valid question contrary , Im sure your downloading games to use as backups of games you already have anyway ;). Mods will not delete / edit or suspend you for this.
You will be able to flash the drive on all the models you have mentioned, the latest drives are a bit of a ball ache as you have to cut traces & solder, but its still do-able.

Miketrev, finally I bought 250gb special edition final fantasy, I don't know if this consider to be elite, but it is not written on the box, so where to go to find guides and instructions to modify it? I know it is forbidden to post links so please send me message if you have one. Thanks

mishtag, keep in mind that there is no difference in the models. in ith beginning, Cores and Pros were the same, they just came with different accessories. Now, the Arcade, Elite, FFXII and Splinter Cell boxes are the same, just different accessories. It's the DVD drive inside that you should be concerned about. All 4 of those models (if new), will all have the same drive (a Lite-On 93450).
Get an Xecuter CK3 and Probe II (or a Maximus Extactor and Vampire) and flash it easily & correctly.

OK, I downloaded Jungle Flasher PDF and saved CK3 link, I will start by reading Jungle Flasher PDF, and I hope it is easy to follow steps.
eebeejay, I know modifying the DVD drive enable me playing dvd games copies but what about playing downloaded games in the hard drive (example iso files) is this option exist?

Ok, I'm just a little confused because I heard you have to cut traces but I thought this was outdated.
Where in this video does he cut? Or is his method wrong?

No prob, he basically flashes by just hooking up the CK3 stuff and proceeds to flash. During the flash he just touches the drive with the probe for a few seconds. I think he's flashing a liteon 74850c which if what I have so prob no cutting involved.
Can someone confirm?

He's using the probe method with the r707 hole, its not a full dump of the firmware, it just gets the key. Some people say this is unsafe.
If your new xbox was manufactured after July 09 then you will not be getting one of these drives.

In case if my story would be useful for somebody, I bought xbox FF special edition 250gb and I started with checking what drive do I have, so I found that it was Lite-On 93450c which is very hard to modify (I am talking about myself since it requires skils that I dont have, so I gave it to a repair guy who will charge me 70 CAD for modification and installing additional fan intenaly to reduce the heat, so I hope it worth it.
