Video Daily: Android Market gets PSX emulator

Developer ZodTTD has added the first ever PS1 (PSX) emulator for the Android Market today, charging $6 for the app that will allow gamers to relive memories of the classic console.
Tested by the boys at Phandroid, it appears the emulator will run best on new Android devices, especially those using 1Ghz processors, as it lags on older devices.

If it needs 1GHZ, then apple devices wouldn't support it anyway (the iPad is that fast, but the iPad would need more processor power for the larger image). Also, I would imagine that it is written native, so it wouldn't port to apple very easily.

runs almost perfectly on my Evo
couple games give me problems but the problems i am getting are apparently disc image issues and not emulator issues
only down side to it is it has no L2 R2 on android (yet)

Yeah...but thankfully, those buttons were not used very much with most PS1 games...and the few that did use them usually didn't use R1 and L1. I may have to put this on my droid to see how many MHZ it takes to play GT2...

Just went to their website, it looks like it works with the wiimote, but not with the DS3. I'm not sure I want to spend $6 to play outdated games with terrible controls.

PSX games work great on a custom firmware PSP slim. The PSP with its real/physical buttons provides the perfect gaming experience.
