Would-be 84 percent owner of Facebook was once convicted for shrooms

article published on 28 July, 2010

Paul Ceglia, the business man suing Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg over the rights to own 84 percent of the giant social networking site was once convicted for possession of shrooms, Psilocybin-containing mushrooms that cause hallucinations. Forbes says Ceglia was arrested and plead guilty in 1997 to "felony possession" of over 400 grams of the shrooms. Average recreational users will ... [ read the full article ]

And what exactly is any of that meant to mean?
Mushrooms are naturally growing, when you find some (assuming you're into these Psilocybin mushrooms) you pick as many as you can and dry them etc etc.
How the hell can anyone seriously discuss "recreational use" amounts with this stuff?
It would be similar to finding a 10lb bag of coke and filling your boots and getting caught.
You have no intention of ever dealing but are just making the most of a (depending on your POV) lucky find.

This whole 'drugs debate' is just so full of idiotic BS it's laughable......were it not for the lives utterly destroyed by the whole counter-productive & pointless (not forgetting stupifyingly expensive to us tax-payers) 'war' going on in the 1st place.

I don't recall ever voting for this insanity.

"What happens is if people are using mushrooms on a regular basis, sometimes they have a reduced ability to differentiate between reality and fantasy," said Ciani. "Their experience on the mushrooms sort of overlaps into their daily activities. Particularly if they use them on a regular basis."

It makes me sick when respected people like university professors back the lies from the government, when they know that they are lies, and that the lies cause more harm than good, assuming they do any good at all. There are only two ways that shrooms will overlap onto your daily activities...first, if you are taking shrooms while doing these activities, and second, if shrooms allowed you to reach new levels of understanding...so now doing your job at the nerve gas factory makes you feel guilty.

I was not aware that they are legal in Jamaica. I know weed is illegal down there, but the cops do nothing about it...maybe shrooms are the same way.

the user does not care if illegal or not! they are going to take them either way, no matter what country they are in

Also what has this got to do with his claim to 84% of facebook?

I used to do a lot of shrooms, and I mean an ounce + in 2 days by myself. Eventually like any other drug you build an immunity to them, they no longer even work and they don't even really cause everyone to hallucinate. If this was LSD or any other type of acid, I would agree with professional's statement, but we talking shrooms, unless tampered with just can't cause that high level of permanent damage. Either way, regardless; it should have no baring on this case, but it likely will given US law...

As far as I know, no one has ever had a trip that caused them to hallucinate things that other people can see...things like check images and signed contracts.

BTW...if you make a movie around that idea, please send me a few bucks for the idea!

Actually cheif, eaten raw they have a very slight effect and someone could easily snuffle a big bag full without any lasting damage. However if you dry and cure them properly they produce much much more active content.

However it seams strange that someone, no mater how laugh able his story or claims to ownership are or have been, it to me makes him look more pluasable when someone else tries to slander him.

If its true, ok he did shrooms and maybe even sold them, big whoopti do di darh.

What i should point out if Paul was such a big shroom head and he started to hang around with Mark, doesnt that say that possibly Mark was also a shroom head ? I mean they obviously moved in similar circles ;)

It's just a slur to destroy any credibility the guy might have with the watching TV audience.

As drugs lose their 'potency' for that sort of nonsense across the world (with more and more having experienced them & not grown an extra 3 heads) you can expect claims of child pornography, paedophilia and connections to 'terrorism' to mount.

It's happened already, claims of child porno being found on a PC taken away in a raid only to be quietly dropped many months later......and all without a word of apology or correction to the original story broadcast.

Yeah, this is clearly an attempt to destroy Ceglia's credibility. The attempt may backfire as plazma247 said.
