I just got a vision.. there is a ban wave approaching us.. the month is blury.. wait it says e74 error. WTF -gasp-.. =] Just be more worried about getting rrod, or other errors..online ban is the last thing to be worried about.

I'm pretty shocked at how many posts this thread has gotten. I'm more surprised at how the majority of the posts are pure rubbish. Why? Simply because a lot of people on this site can't think logically. Just because I'm concerned about having my console corrupted, that doesn't mean I'm whining or that I should not mod my console. Why? Because I still gain even if I'm banned this instant, but not as much as I would gain if I weren't banned. I simply wanted opinions on the risk of a ban wave this month, seeing as Reach is coming out next month. When I gave hypotheses, they're just guesses. I never said they were the actual percentages. How can that offend someone?

Maybe you think this thread is crazy and that's fine but you need not feel obliged to keep posting rubbish comments.

You are the moron. The fact that Reach releases next month increases the chances of a ban wave this month. Ban waves usually occur before blockbuster games are released. Have you taken that much in? I just wanted opinions on the chances of ban wave this month. I never said one would occur or was likely to occur this month. You say my opinions are worthless? Awwww, don't close this thread it was starting to get interesting. On a serious note, I'm tired of waiting for the ban wave to arrive. M$ just needs to get it over with all ready. Many of us would like to think we beat M$.

"All drives should be updated to Lite Touch + (LT+) firmware if playing on XBOX live. Samsung drives and pre-78/79 Hitachi drives do not utilize AP 2.5. All other drives are considered to be detectable by Microsoft (YMMV). Make sure all rips are ABGX verified, contain SSv2, and patched AP2.5 (where needed). XGD3 must currently be burned on new drive with PC Burner Max firmware for 100% rip. All modded consoles can be potentially unsafe for use on XBOX live."

I wanted this thread to be closed because its going nowhere. I understand what you're saying. I know that you can be banned whether you stay offline or not. However, if there is a ban wave and you don't try to connect to xbox live during or after the ban wave because you know your console is banned, the console or HD or profile will not be corrupted. Therefore, there is an incentive to stay offline if a ban wave is likely to occur or if one is occurring. Because by staying offline and ringing up repair, you can see if your console has been banned. If it has, you don't try to connect to xbox live again to avoid the console being corrupted. If it hasn't, then you can connect. I don't think I can be clearer than that. I do apologise for not being clearer earlier.
I know the risks and I'll still gain from modding my console if I'm banned but that doesn't mean I won't take precautions if I know a ban wave is likely to happen. Why? Because a banned console that is not corrupted is much easier to sell than a banned console that is corrupted. I don't know when a ban wave will happen and either does anyone besides M$. The point of this thread was to just get opinions in regards to August because of Reach releasing next month. I'm not fussed or concerned. I modded my console more for the fun of breaking the rules than to save money and I don't like Activision. Its only a few dollars after all or euro in my case. I was just anxious to see what people thought. I didn't expect this thread to be of huge help to anyone but I thought it might be somewhat informative and interesting. Instead it has been classed as being as pointless as all the other ban wave threads on this site. As such, it should be closed.
