I have tried to make a dvd of some avi files that I have, I used nero vision express.
When I put it in my stand alone dvd player It won't play.
The title menu comes up but it won't go any further than that.
I have tried to play it in other players and it still won't play.
Please help.

what media do you use mate?
also, have u tried any other software
also are u keeping the fiels as AVI or converting them?

i am using ritek r02 dvd+r x4.
I thought the AVI files were converted to dvd format when i select make a new dvd in Nero.
It seems to take about an hour and a bit to burn the disc, and it seems to me that the first hour of the process is some sort of conversion and the last few minutes is the actual burn.

err no, not usually although not being a big fan of Nero with DVDs, im not 100%
DVD players Dont Play .AVI files

this is what i did and it solved all my problems.
1) downloaded DVD Decrypter to decrypt the dvd's.
2) downloaded DVD Shrink to shrink the movies so i can burn them.
3) downloaded clone dvd so i could burn the movies of course its only a 30 day trial for clone but if you like you can buy it i know i will be buyng it.
and if you need the guides to DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter just go to the guides box.
