you must provide all the information about your psp before anyone will be able to help you, for example the firmware you have now would be a fine place to start. by starting with the current firmware we should be able to determine what steps are needed to get you going on the right road.

you have to look under system information and find out what firmware the machine is on, you do not have to download anything just have to scroll to the left and look for it.

the pandora is the only way you are going to be able to roll the firmware back to CFW that is were you must start when you get the pandora battery we will go to the next step.

no stores have it, CFW is what you are after Custom Firmware thats what is going to allow you to play backups

anyone is ok, i like the blue one that can be turned on and off from pandora that way you can use it as a backup for your regular battery.

I hate to interrupt this, but i have a psp fat with 3.03ofw, and have no idea which cfw to install first on it in order to upgrade it to 5.00 m33-6? You sound like you may have a fair idea? Help (If any) will be much appreciated.

The Phat one. Seriously, there are two versions, one for Phat and one for slim. The Phat one works for slims too, I don't know if that is true the other way around too.
Else any will do, if you want it to be cheapest possible take a standard pandora battery, else take a hybrid one where you can switch off pandora mode. I personally like the white one (if you found www.dealextreme.com), it's the best non-original battery I ever had, I use mine as a backup battery, which is sometimes useful to have, especially when traveling with the Deutsche Bahn.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

you must go to 5.03 and then use chicken to install the firmware you want, that is without a pandora.
