Just got a new stack of Dl dvds the same ones that i have used for years better than verbatim ones they lost the data in 2 weeks which was wierd. Anyway the new dvds will not play in liteon drives but work great in benq drives not at all in samsung. ( I have allot of spare parts) So would replacing the xboxs to benq be the right step? it seems that maybe these media companies have found a way to make the discs work fine in a pc dvd player but not in the xbox. (Maybe)

I'm lost with 97 dl dvds left i want to get rid of these discs and it looks like i'm changing comapny of the dvds.

I am aware that the xboxs need a good dye on the disc to make them to work so the laser doesnt pass right through.

Someone must know something please.

SOLVED ended up been the media the company must have changed how they produce the media or who they rebrand them off!!!

How i found out was i had a blank one from a old pack and it worked fine! Disc analasis showed a .02 drop in density on 1st layer.

That doesn't sounds quite right...probably more along the lines of the company they rebranded from...crap production quality. .02 drop in density, don't think is as much a factor as dye quality.
