Leaked pics of upcoming Verizon world phone surface

article published on 8 August, 2010

AndroidGuys has posted some photos this weekend of HTC's alleged "world phone," one that runs both GSM and CDMA bands. The pictured prototype is for Verizon, and the site says they don't expect the phone to be released until 2011. Showing off its dual-network capabilities, the smartphone had a Vodaphone SIM card, as well. The other specs are up for interpretation but it appears ... [ read the full article ]

Yes, absolutely.

The DroidX and the Evo both have bluetooth keyboard support and HDMI out; they can actually replace computers for many users...and they are generally a great alternative for the users that don't need the capabilities of a full-sized computer, as these are the same people that have the most problems with spyware, virues, etc...as yet, Android is clean of all of these things. Sure, Android needs better printer support and a few other tweaks, but I really think that about 90% of people who buy a i3 laptop would be better off with a DroidX or an Evo.

No we do not. This is a phone for crying out loud not a hand held computer with wifi access. You want that then feel free to buy a kindle or a notebook. This is getting completely out of hand here. A cellphone should make cell phone calls only. There is no need for stuff like this. Care to guess why numerous cities and states have now made it illegal to operate a cell phone while driving? Because no matter how you warn against it, some nimrod is going to try and text someone or find their phone when the car is in motion and some unlucky pedestrian or another driver is going to pay for this.

The ONLY thing they need do is place a loud ringer on it like the Nokia N95 had that was close to 105 decibles so you can hear it no matter where you are on in a factory during your break or an emergency call. There is no need for anything else.

Well you can keep yourself in 1999 and buy a nokia 3310 they still work. As for the rest of us we want phones that can do all these things.
Your reasoning is so faulty. People get killed by persons talking on cell phones while driving so why not ban them all together then...
Look if you don't like technological progression fine but KB & I are 21st Century. And I'm sure he's waiting for the 2 core 1.5ghz as much as I am.

Well well well.........nothin' like taking away from the Verizon business model by offering a phone that works for at&t and T-Mobile people. If cool enough, I'll just buy one and use with T-Mo but I'll never deal with arrogant Verizon ever again. 5 years with them is all I could handle.
