I just bought a wii and i see it has this as it firmware, i take it that at the moment i am screwed when it comes to installing the home-brew channel on my wii. I've been doing a little research and the only way is through a copy of Indiana Jones and some other game, i take it i'm going to have to wait because i don't want to use that method. I guess my question is there anything cool i can do to my wii other than that or should i just wait patiently? Thanks any response would be helpful i'm new to the wii and was looking forward to installing tonight until i checked the firmware first.
Unfortunately no, & If you wait I don't think any new ways will be developed. Bannerbomb is now useless for 4.3, so it's either this way or no way at all for a few years.
Just go out and rent the game . Use the new Hackmii to install Bootmii and HBC , then follow a 4.3 guide so you know what stubbed ios to delete and how to trucha patch ios .
Ok, i've decided to use the smachbrothsers method, is there a way to backup my wii before i do this so if i brick it i won't be screwed or a way to backup the system to a memory card after
ok, just got the homebrew channel on by using this method. I know have a blank sd card and am wondering how and what to do to get some channels on my home-brew channel. I'm doing alot of goggling and youtubing and things are confusing right now because my sd card is blank and i am wondering where to start, anyone know where a good guide is, i know goggle and all that but like i said i am confused and thought it would be best to ask people who have done this before, thanks
You install them by putting a folder in the base directory of the SD named 'apps' and then put each app in it's own folder inside the apps folder.
If you want to softmod the wii to play backup games then you need to go a little farther. There are plenty of 4.3 softmod guides out there at this point. Just pick one and follow it carefully,
Ok, i installed it and if i take the sd card out all the apps disapear in the homebrew channel, if i leave the sd with all my boot stuff in it auto boots and gives the choice to install bootmii- which i have already done- this way i do still have the apps folder and my snes and nes emulators are there. I'm just wondering if i if there is a pack to download to give me that apps folder but so i don't have all the bootmii and that install stuff in it
Sorry, Penguin i see what i did, on the tutorial it says to save and the extract the clean sd card, that was what i forgot to do. I did it and it is what i needed. SO i just never take that SD card out as long as i what to play my roms, is that correct?
