So, when my jtag (falcon) randomly stopped working, everyone said it was soldering. So I had it checked by a pro. Soldering wasn't the problem. So, I was stumped.

Then I remembered cygnos and figured, hey, why not give it a shot?

So far, I'm not impressed with the install process. The quick solder pads are made so that no matter how you have the PCB lined up, one line of quick solder pads or another is going to be in a difficult place to "quick solder." Meaning, no matter how it's lines up, inevitably, there will be points lying underneath the PCB by just enough to make them difficult >.<

Anyone experienced similar problems?

Regards

Budro

lol I bought it because standard JTAG wiring failed after time. Worked great for a while, then stopped. So I had it professionally done. No go.

So, I'm going cygnos. I've been out of town and haven't had time to re-attempt. Will post back.

Then whoever is doing your soldering sucks. No offense. I never had a jtag go bad after time period.

No offense taken ha. Part of the problem I am sure is that when I got this Falcon, someone had attempted, and failed, a JTAG before, frying FT1U2 or whatever that is. So, I soldered to a trace. Worked fine for a while. Now, no matter how "solid" it appears (via multi-meter resistance = 0 Ohm)it just doesn't stay!

It has been an enigma to me, and the the game shop ha

Cygnos is worth a shot, and I already bought it... eventhough it is making me mad.

Already have another JTAG. Just wanna JTAG this and sell the puppy :)

There is an alternative point on the bottom of the motherboard you solder to. I had a post on this a while back. Worked like a charm.
