Samsung has introduced its first portable Blu-ray 3D player this week, alongside 3D HDTVs in an effort to make 3D products more accessible to consumers.
The portable BD-C8000 has a 10.3-inch screen, built-in Wi-Fi, an HDMI 1.4a port and runs on batteries.
Buyers can watch their 3D movies on the go, or connect it to a 3D HDTV via the HDMI output.

Anyone else starting to get the feeling that 3D is about to fall flat on it's face? I mean, as long as no one has it, it is cool...but now you can carry it around like it is a netbook...so the cool factor is gone, you have no media, and you have to wear dumb looking glasses that might give you a serious headache.

I've been saying this for a year now. Even Sony has stated that 3D is a stop-gap measure until OLED can be perfected on larger 40+ inch screens. 3D is a lame fad that has doctors everywhere saying people damn well better take regular breaks every 30 minutes or suffer possible vision problems. Seems logical to me and frankly......who's wasteful enough to go out and buy a 2500.00 TV PLUS a 350.00 3D blu-ray player PLUS 150.00 glasses PLUS a pair for a second person in your home, all for a selection of 3D discs that DON'T EVEN EXIST YET.
Not sure if others agree with me but 3D is great in theatres, especially IMAX and ONLY ON SOME MOVIES. Clearly Avatar broke the mold but I heard that Clash of the Titan sucked donkey balls regarding its 3D aspect.
I pretty sure most of would agree with you lissenup2, unless that person is a fad that must have everything just cause its latest. Hell I not even sure if the 3DS is the right way to introduce 3D anymore, at first I appealed out to it, but again tricking your eyes to see something that isn't there, I can't see that being beneficial in anyways in the long term of gaming. It's like selling a gimmick at best; *not exactly the best term to use as the gimmick does work, but if it can harm the user and as a gamer I really like at times to put long hours into a session..* my eyes get fucked enough over 2D I don't need 3D to make them worse.

Yes, but now I think the fad is about to end.
Also, I think sony said that LCD 3D pannels were just a stopgap until OLED panels were available; I don't think they specified if those would be 2D or 3D. I'm sure the people who think Move is a good idea also think 3D OLEDs are a good idea.
