k i have a newer elite and the power block light went red and the xbox wont power on what does that mean is the whole xbox done or is it just the cord

Try unplugging the block and plugging it back in? sounds simple but it sometimes works.
Also check the usb pins, I heard that they can sometimes bend and short out the xbox.

I had a jasper elite that the power brick went bad (turned red). I used a friend's power brick and all was good. It might just be the power brick that went bad (hopefully). If you have a friend that lives close by with a 360, give it a shot. Good Luck!
