Hi PSPWXP again, I have been offline for a while, but know I'm moving into the ps3 scene to help with the PS Jailbreak!
Before I start helping with the PS Jailbreak I wanna answer questions that noobz, I mean smart people, may have.
The questions I know of know are
Q. What Is it?
A. To put it simply it is a modchip, that doesn't stay working on the PS3, its like using the 'Test M33' feature on the Magic Memory Stick. It has the same hardware as what sony uses in their warranty factories to fix software issues. It forces the PS3 to enter a kinda recovery mode that lets the PS3 load anything without checking for legitametly.
Q. What does it do?
A. It allows any PS3 package to run without question. The Backup Manager was used to see what access we actually had using this device! It will eventually lead to homebrew and other apps.
Q. Is this like a Modchip or Custom Firmware A. No. It is just a plug and play hardware mod that allows for booting of any PS3 package file, it probably will never lead to Custom Firmware, although it may allow use of Linux again.
Q. Can I use this on PlayStation Network
A. Well it is possible, although sources have said that they have been banned from using it. Play it safe and never use PS Jailbreak online anyway.
Q. Can I run PS2/PS1/Minis or Blu-Ray copies on this
A. No, only PS3 game booting from the PS3's internal hard drive or a fat32 formatted external hard drive.
Q. How can I make programs for the PS3?
A. If you don't know how you probably shouldn't be asking, but if you really wanna know search around for the PS3SDK, not the 100mb version, but the 600mb version!
Q. Are there fakes?
A. There has been reports of fakes, in order to get a legitamate version only buy from trusted places from the PS Jailbreak website.
