Xbox 360 to DVI-D Problem

Hey guys,

Thanks for taking the time to help me.

Alright so what I actually want to do is hook up my Xbox 360 20gb to my 22" Toshiba LCD Monitor/TV

It takes in DVI-D as a secondary source as I want to be able to switch between 360 and regular desktop.

So.

I can purchase a 6' MALE TO MALE HDMI to DVI-D cable for around 20$. I understand that DVI-D does NOT support audio transfers. So how am I supposed to be able to hook up my 360 to my monitor and hear sound at the same time?

Remember that the regular VGA cable hookups are not supported by my monitor nor is there any space at the back of the 360 with the HDMI wire plugged in.

So far all I have in mind is that 6' MALE TO MALE HDMI to DVI-D cable.

Can someone please give me step by step instructions on how I would be able to get audio and video ( in HD ) playing at the same time?

I know it can be done Im just a bit confused as to how.

you can purchase a dvi to vga adapter i know as for audio you can just buy some cheap speakers or you could use a dvd player with vga on it.

You require the slim plug component cable kit so the hdmi cable can fit under it,this allows you to connect to a stereo or with the right adaptor you could hook upto the monitor with the component rca connectors

after that adapter all you need is a good set of speakers depeinding on what you already got set up. I went with the TV-Computer option.

Wait so there is a speaker port at the back of the 360?

No, connect them to the red and white connectors cause that is your right and left audio.

using the two connectors he showed you put those into your xbox then the one with teh white and red goto what ever audio you many have. then HDMI cable will plug into your monitor. if it has HDMI that is.

all you need once you have the adaptor like in the link i provided is the wiring from that adaptor to whatever sound connection you have on the monitor any local electronic supplier will have it,whether it's RCA both endes or RCA to 3.5mm jack (3.5MM female is what's on sound card or onboard) you would be better off connecting to a stereo if possible the sounds totally bitch'n
