hi guys just got my dm500s and im having troubles at the first fence i got myself a usb to serial cable as my laptop doesnt have a serial port loaded all the drivers seems to be ok checked device mangr all ok there says usb to serial com port 3 so i connected my dm 500 then i loaded dreamup v1321 selcted com3 no info is shown in the box so i clicked connect then all i get is connection prepared, now switch on the dreambox so i switch it on then nothing happens please could some1 help thanks danny

take the power lead out of the 500 and when it says power on the box put the power lead in the back of the 500.

i would try dreaup v1.3.3.2 or later. also them serial cables are a pain somtimes. make sure you have the latest drivers especially if using vista.

have tried dreamup 1336 and am using win xp maybe i will get a null mod cable

try an older version dreamup and if you can get a null modem cable and flash your box on a desktop that way no need for adaptors or drivers and you wont have the pain of fiddling around with vista.
