to think that i thought the psphone would only be half as fast as the competition...now the best they can hope for is 1/3 speed!

Heh, it would still be cool to have device that could play PSP games and phone etc. but you talk like it's happening... is it?

I had the thought that the iPhone's tech would be trumped at some point, still that's only an impression.

Perhaps if the new Ninty DS was also a phone???

I think the PSPhone is still just a blueprint for a experimental prototype...PSP game support would be nice, but I would much rather have PC game support...and with devices hitting 3GHZ and having screens less than 1/4 the size of PC screens, I think we may be getting close.

That is opinion; their hardware is easily trumped by the Captivate...and I would much rather have Android than iOS.

So far as the PSPhone goes it's only rumor, there is no evidence that such a blueprint exists, tho it could. Sony shouldn't work on a phone that lets user play PSP Games. Why?

Because they no where near the library of games that is worth playing again, just cause it plays on a phone. They couldn't even get a descent library of games for their hand-held. When they only get 2 hit games a year IF that, when competitors get so much more, there really isn't a need or mass public want for such a phone.

*Even if they would have done it, or will; I highly doubt they would make it use UMDs, so you would all have to dl' your games similar to the PSPGo, which they already proven, doesn't work; at least not on the price point they went in on for both hardware and games.

Yes, the GO was a huge failure, but a big part of that was the lack of 3G support and cell support...the lack of 3G support meant that the download-only approach that works so well for Google and Apple failed miserably. Also, there is no phone...the whole idea of making it smaller was to make it more portable...but it was still an extra device that few people carried with them. If you put a phone in there, people will have no choice but to bring it everywhere. Of course, there was also the problem of people who already owned games not being able to use them; I guess sony figured, "It offers nothing new, why would a previous PSP owner want one?"...and they were right.

All that aside, I want Gran Turismo on a phone...I'm not sure I would sacrifice a 3GHZ processor to get it, but I still want it. I would rather have a PS2Phone...but Sony is too slow and ignorant to do it right. There are a lot more PC games that I want mobile (as well as a few apps that are not yet theoretically possible)...and a 3GHZ processor with a decent dedicated GPU will at least have the power to run respectable ports...but that obviously brings up some serious questions about controls...I don't want to carry a bluetooth mouse & KB everywhere I go.

I'd want Diablo mobile with online co-op play. And you right about lack of 3G being the downfall, but that wasn't the only one, they were overpriced regardless of the lack of that feature.

The only serious problem that I have with android OS is the privacy. I'm use to having my text messages, photos and contacts lock with a security code. In android that is not possibly useless you install an app which fails sometimes and just defeats the purpose or can be easily uninstalled.

Hell, it's about time. This thing is a beast. Dual core 1.5Ghz? I'm trying to imagine what this phone CAN'T do. Some site though are listing this as the Incredible HD or they could be the same knowing how HTC names their products. At least HTC lives up to all the hype for their products, unlike some companies *Apple*. The iPhone's days are numbered with devices like this, and there are many more to come from the likes of HTC, Samsung and others, especially when WP 7 comes out.

Why the hell would you want to run XP on it !?!?!?

The only thing they will need to sort out is the battery life.

For some reason I'm getting email notifications on old threads that no-one's posting into any more.

Still as I was re-reading it the thought occurred to me that if $ony gave a PSphone another stick, it could easily enough collate a low priced library of games from PS1 and PS2 titles recoded for it.

No-one would want to play them? I would disagree. They would have new life as reruns and get enough interest in the PSpnone to make it worthwhile for developers to create new games for it.

Its a lot easier being righteous than right.
