Hi there,

I can successfully create a m2v file from Cinema Craft Encoder, which is very good quality, however I cannot create a file size of my own liking.

I have noticed that by changing the bitrate the file size increases but I cant figure out for the life of me how to control the final file size.

I am using One Pass VBR with a maximum of 9800 and a min of 2000 which gives me roughly a 2GB file from a 1 hr 37 min film (Coyote Ugly)

Re-encoding the same film at a minimum of 0 and maximum of 9800 gives me a file size of around 1.3GB for the same 1hr 37 mins of film.

Is there a easy way to control the end file size?

Cheers

the only way to control the file size is to do a 2 pass encode and to selece a lower birtate. i.e 6000 instead of the 9800.

try using a birtate calculator, as this will tell you what size of file you should expect.
