I've been pulling my hair out over this problem. For many years I have used DVDshrink, using nero as the burning engine and once in a while DVDfab to help over come little problems. That being said, I recently got a new computer it has the P5N7A-VM motherboard in it also my os is windows XP home. I just bought two new Pioneer DVR-118LBK drives along with two new Vantec Sata/IDE to USB 2.0 Adapters to hook them up. These items mentioned work just fine in my older Dell dimensions 4300 computer. Once again I'm using Shrink and Nero.
When I try to burn a DVD on my new computer I get the message SCSI Command aborted, shortly after the burning process starts. Then the computer freezes up. I am using TYGO3 -R for blank media.
Interestingly, I have tried +R media and there is no problem burning.
I also just now tried the burning software that came with the motherboard install disc, it's called Ulead burn now, and using a -R disc, it did burn me a copy of a movie I had in my hard drive.
I understand one can use Image burn for the burning engine instead of Nero. Is this true, and how do I set this up.
Understand I do not want to stop using DVD shrink . I caught mention of a modified version of shrink in some forum I was reading. Is this what I need?
Any help before I go completely bald, would be appreciated. Thanks

Can anyone explain why I see the tool bar covering up part of my post.

Is the firmware up to date.
In ImgBurn:Tools > Drive > Check for firmware update

Yes, I just did a firmware up date and nothing has changed, still the same problems. I will attempt to change my burning engine over from nero to Image burn. We'll see if that does anything to help. Thanks.
