Doing my first JTAG soon, questions

Ok I'm pretty confident in my soldering abilities but looking around it appears guides have changed some. What's the latest and most comprehensive guide (basically a JF tutorial equivalent that covers all mothersboards/methods)? Which method do you guys prefer? Is bridging the fuses necessary?

Which dashboard should I go with? I dont know about Xellous, freeboot, xbr or anything yet really. And once I've done the JTAG, which site out there has the most information about all the different homebrew and hacks available?

Thanks for the info...I've seen alternate jtag points but those are still the preferred points then? Also once I've got the jtag done what's a good site for homebrew software? I've been googling to find one but google's been as useful as a bucket of armpits lately

Xenon...are the LPT connections the same on it as the other ones?

just use the points in the xenon pics and you will be fine.

k, the jtag points are different on the xenon but the LPT points are the same right? I've seen USB versions of JTAGs too...are there any advantages to them over LPT? Like length of cable?

jtag itself is different, as shown in picture. connection from 360 to pc is the same on every board. difference between usb and lpt is speed. lpt read/write will take around 20 minutes per read or write. usb will take around 3 minutes per read or write. also, make the cable as short as possible. my lpt cable is around 6 inches.

Hmm so is there any reason to prefer the LPT over USB? Less complicated i'd imagine (can't find the USB tutorial atm)
