What PSGroove Hardware Do I Need to Play Backups?

I dont get somethig here. What hardware do I need with the PSGroove to play the PS3? Do I have to solder anything? Whats the cheapest and easiest way to play PS3 backups?

no soldering man its a usb dongle with the open source software on it, read into it bud its all over the place, as far as im aware though the psgroove doesnt allow you to copy games that feature is disabled

sitja, I dont understand something. How can I play game backups on the PSGroove if the copy games feature is disabled on it? Whats the point to the PSGroove then?

PSGroove is an open-source reimplementation of the psjailbreak exploit for AT90USB and related microcontrollers.
It should work on:
* AT90USB162
* AT90USB646
* AT90USB647
* AT90USB1286
* AT90USB1287
* ATMEGA32U4
? and maybe more.

These are chipsets, i.e microchips, the udb dongles have this chips soldered onto the board.
As for downloading an iso from the web, you cannot just copy it to the ps3, someone has released a converter which you have to use before transfering the file to the ps3.

Why don't you search the forums about the ps3 groove before actually posting this kind of question which seems very lazy! Its pretty straight forward if you just took time and read. The psgroove is used to hack the ps3 turning it into a dev unit, the psgroove doesn't have the backup manager thats why its not able to play backups, you have to download it seperately and put it on a usb and install it using the package installer. Once you have the manager installed you can copy games to an external hard drive or your internal hard drive and play games that way.

You insulted aD Memebers.
You insulted a Moderator.
You tried to use the rules that were pointed out to you that you violated against others (including myself!?).

I think that is clear enough.

Perhaps a month will allow him the time to read the forums instead of post.
Also, on any forums, mods are 100% right. If they happen to be wrong in your eyes, adjust your eyes. They run the show, they make the decisions. You can argue, and they'll remove you. Your best course of action is to drop it if you continue to disagree, and play by their rules.
