Hi guys, just a quick question. My a780 arrived today but didnt come with a remote control. I will call the supplier and get a new one but i was wondering if i can flash, scan for channels without it (using the front panel buttons). Also i have 2 starview remotes sitting in the cupboard. Since they are similar in set up etc, would they work in the meantime? Cheers in advance

The remotes are no good to you and no you dont need the remote to flash the box, following the instructions which can be found at the bottom of E45s posts on the forum

My supplier is sending me a replacement asap. What i was wondering is if these 'universal' remotes would work for the time being. I see that the starview one wont work on a kryptview model but would a universal one work considering they usually advertise that these remotes would work on almost anything
Ps Ive flashed my box already and knew i didnt need the remote for that. That question was poorly worded in reflection :)

Ok mate, just choking the get the thing up and running. It looks so shiny and full of goodness ha ha. It was really to get the channels scanned etc then i could just change channel via the front panel if the remote only had partial compatibility
