I found the image quality really greyed and blurry almost to the point where your eyes start hurting. So if you are using a hd tv or a tv that allows sharpness control then u need to use this and increase the saturation to 70. I put tv sharpness at full on a toshiba full hd tv. This makes the picture almost look HD on movies i.e. defined edges.

question: i assume that if i turn off power search mode, then with box in standby it wont talk to cs server.
have you looked at your other setting on the box? have you selected PAL and RGB? the box with powersearch off doesnt matter if its on or off when connected to the router or effects it talking to it,

Try as mickhab has said menu >>> system settings >>>A/V Output Settings and select RGB or CVBS try that and see what happens also make sure you have your scart lead going to AV1 Socket on your tv or EXT 1 on the tv and also that its on the correct socket on the back of the box

RGB is the best to use and also check a new scart to see if that improves, but never had a prob with the pic quality on the Krypt, so its down to yer settings or yer cables, one or the other

I have got scrambled channels on my sub box, on ITV1 and a few others work, others are fuzzy, glitchy and some say call and quote 3202. This happened as soon as switched off the kv box and started watching on the sub box. I've had to call virmin and now they are going to monitor for 24 to 48 hours. Then my internet wouldn't connect so I thought they must be on to me. So I thought I'll hide my kv box incase they raid my house. I see what happens tommorow.
so u need to have the box constantly hooked up to the modem or router? are there any boxes that work just like eurovox cos this seems like too much work! who wants cat 5 cables runnin up an down the friggin stairs!! unless these things are wireless or come with a dongle, it hardly sounds worth the hassle.

who said anything about cables? search for homeplugs using the search function above (no cables needed) and if you dont connect it to the net, no TV, so in a nushell, if you want TV, thats they way it is going forward, Sat or cable,

has anyone compared the quality of picture on kv box to the picture from the sub box on the same channel e.g. bbc 1, itv1 etc. My picture for some unknown reason is not clear i.e. image is not defined clearly compared to the sub box image. I checked all scart leads and cable feeds coz I swapped them around from sub box to kv box and vice versa. Then I plugged in my old sv1 box and compared e.g. itv1 on sub box and same channel on sv1 box and the quality is the same. I also played around with rgb and cvbs and that dont make no difference. I then unplugged the net cable and monitored FTA channels and no change either. So Please can someone honestly say the that they are getting the same image quality on both boxes. I'm coming to the conclusion that cheaper part in kv box is the cause and may decide to flog the box. Also what Firmware are you using?

update your box to the september firmware and see does that sort your tv problem out also have you got the scart lead on the AV1 on the back of your TV or EXT1 and then try the rgb and the cvbs
also i would try doing a full default on the box again and see will this fix the problem
yes you could open it up and check the cable and see what happens

E45 do u have this kv box and do you get sub box quality picture? I've updated to sept firware few days ago. tried av1 and av2, also tried rgb and cvbs.
I'm hoping someone will come on here and tell me that either their kv shows the same sub box quality or not, otherwise I cannot recommend this box to potential buyers.

well it seems you are the only one who has this issue, sumtin tells me mr 45 dont have one working, but, it could be a fault with the box itself, like I said your the only one who has reported this type of issue, that I have seen anyways, as a test, can you bring the box to someone elses place, even to try a FTA chan or even set it up there? and see if this is bad or good? if its bad, then you know its the box itself and to finally eliminate your set up at home and contact your supplier to see if they can change or replace it

it is possible its a box issue but then again you would need to try the box at another house its could be a tv setting or something
as mickhab has said you are the only person that has brought this up no other reports any where else so unless your box is faulty i dont know all you can do is see if your supplier will replace it

I spoke to someone at mycablebox and also said to try it at someone elses house incase its a tv problem. They said that they would exchange it, but I've put on the non fta software so don't know if they take it back, might have to flog it for £100 - £120.
I don't know if people notice the difference in picture quality, but whereas the sub box and sv1 box show more of a glossy picture the kv box shows a kind of matt picture like you looking through a net curtain. Why is it that I'm only having this problem, surely I'm not the only one to end up with a faulty box. What about this Saturation, bright and contrast setting on the kv box? has that been put there to compensate for the picture quality, as you can change all those settings on your tv. Maybe previous kv users are use to this picture quality or don't notice it much on smaller sd tvs.

did you already have your channels on your box before you put it on standby ??
if yes and you are still having probs do a factory default on your box menu installation factory default pin 0000 then turn the box off at the back for about 30 seconds then turn it back on auto scan your box making sure you have your correct provider leave the network as default press green button next screen you will get will be the list of net id make sure you have your correct one you can get this from your subbed box if you are unsure then press ok and let the box scan away

did this only happen or has it been like this since you got the box what you are saying sound to me like a faulty scart lead or bent pins on it try changing scart leades and put them in AV1 or EXT 1 only

I didn't have epg last night and some channels were scrambled, so I put it on power search mode. This morning clock was stuck on 0226 without decimal point. Switched off from back on again got default screen. did autoscan on tw network green button. 1 already exist and slowly reaches 10. Network scan finished message. pickups 11 channels only. in the channel list found some names for channels have characters where there should be letter. tried flash downgrade as I thought It might be memory corruption. did factory default, rescan, again the same. I've lost patiences with this box and I'm gonna take this box back to the supplier and throw it in there face. I'm now watching the game on sopcast. I'm seriously thinking of switching to SV6, I rather pay 100 every year than put up with this.

Only set it up yesterday, 'for a friend'. Spent all evening and this morning changing TV and box settings to improve the picture quality. Seeking the right combination of Contrast, Saturation, Brightness etc has taken ages. Still feel that the picture isn't as sharp as it should be, but maybe its just my aging eyes.
Doesn't seem to be an obvious problem with the leads nor connection. They were the ones that were used until yesterday with a Eurovox box. The Eurovox seemed a little worse than the 10 year old V box used before, while the Kryptview seems a little worse than the Eurovox. However,it is conceivable that the leads are the problem.
Only posted because I had the same problems as others with connectors in the box being unconnected and the remote being temperamental and occasionally unresponsive. Thought it might be worth posting to see if it flushed out others with problems.
But, the epg is much better than Eurovox. The setting up was really easy, especially with the Tut too - Thanks to those on here! What a relief not to have to spend an hour putting individual channels into groups!
