Just a question
I have a modded xbox360 which i play pirated games on and have been banned from live (no, im not whining because of being banned) and it was only the console thats been banned, not the hard-drive. I was wondering, if i buy a real xbox360 and buy real games for that to play online can i be traced? like play the pirated games on the fake xbox360, earn acheivments etc. take that hard-drive out and put it in the real xbox360 and play Live (which will update my acheivments of the pirated games) Am i able to be traced and banned on the real xbox 360 because of this or will i not be banned. (considering buying a real one for reach, mw3 etc..)

No, you will not be banned on the legit box as thats what M$ expects you to do is go out and get a legit box. However, your gamertag may become corrupted when transferring the drive from a banned box to a legit box. M$ did it that way to frustrate the hell out of you even more. There are ways to get around this though, but you need the hard drive transfer cable to hook it to your pc and fiddle with some files.

From what I understand, the corruption happens every single time you move the drive back to the banned box, as for the myth about the modchip addition preventing RROD, that is simply not true otherwise M$ would remove the part themselves and save millions of dollars a year on xbox repairs. RROD is caused by excessive heat and cheap solder, along with the warping of the board due to heat thus causing the intricate processor connections to break. Or so I am told. Only Billy Gates knows for sure.

It does corrupt your profile every time you sign into it on the banned profile, as well as it will corrupt your saved games the same way. basically anything you boot on the banned console will be corrupt so be careful. I personally just put just my profile and whatever save I am going to be using on a usb stick and then pop it in the banned xbox.

If you haven't updated to the 2.0.9199.0 dashboard yet, it is possible to restore an "old" secdata.bin from the NAND so it doesn't cause corruption every time you go from the banned console to the non-banned console.
This would require you to dump the NAND, restore the old secdata.bin and flash back.

I'm not an expert but I believe you can't uncorrupt it unless you have a jtagged box. and as far as updating it to the 9199 you can go here >http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/systemuse/xbox360/console/systemupdates.htm and update it using a burned cd or flash drive. its pretty since put the file on the flash drive flash the flash drive in before you turn on the xbox and then turn it on and it recognizes the update and updates

Yes, you can make the 360 not corrupt profiles without JTAG. You dump the NAND, restore an old SecData.bin, and flash fixed SecData.bin back. If the user has updated to the 2.0.9199.0 dashboard, that will restore the HDD functionality but remove any old SecData.bin thus flag the profile for corruption.
So basically if you are still on the 2.0.8955.0 dashboard and have been banned, you would need to dump your NAND, run it through FindSecData 0.62 and then it would prompt you what you need to flash back to the NAND. This will restore HDD functionality AND not cause profile corruption. At that point you can update 2.0.9199.0 dashboard.

The KeyVault is encrypted by the CPU key so you couldn't do anything with that. But you can restore old SecData.bin.
