confuse with red light

hi when i turn on the xbox with no game i just get the xbox 360 symbol and no red light but when i put a game i get the red light and no 360 symbol what do that mean

Is this a used xbox 360 that you've purchased second hand? Are you getting an E64 error when you get the red light?

no it was new but flashed and i don't get anything if i don't put a game in it, it says xbox 360 and it freezes their and no red light comes on and if i put a game in it i get the red lights but nothing on the screen i download madden 11 i play until the kick off and it froze i now am wondering if it was the game the cause it to get the rings or if the game has a virus in it that kill the xbox360

ah, you must have downloaded the wrong version of madden 11. i do recall EA putting a version out themselves that would render the console useless after so many attempts of playing the game. i think it was like 5 attempts or something small like that.

Wow that's the first I've heard of a game being able to cause a RRoD. So you're saying EA released a virus version of the game to pirate networks? Is this the only game that you know of like this?
Santi1031, can you do us a favor and turn the system on with a game in and when the RRoD comes up hold down the sync button and push eject 4 time, then tell us the 4 numbers that it gives you?

hi when i press the sync and eject i didn't see any numbers but the 2 top lights were blinks and i did it again and 4 light was blinking i press sync and 1 light than 3 light hope this helps so the numbers were 2 4 1 3
i trying looking up what wabashman were saying about the virus can't find it anywhere wooly were you able to find it
what would happen if i just get a new hdd will that work or is my system DEAD

dunno if a reflow is going to help if what he's saying about red ring with a game in and no red ring with the game out...and that secondary error code of 2013? First time I've seen that one

ok i lloked up the number so i;m sorry i didn't know that 4 blimknig light meant 0 so my number is 1023 which they say it's a hdd problem if that id the case if i buy a new hdd will this work

according to this xbox code list 1023 isnt a hard drive problem . its a dvd problem . i have a ton of consoles with rrod problems that i have been collecting and never had a problem like yours . usually when the console will play for a short time it is over-heating . i do have a console with a somewhat bad benq drive in it that will for some reason quit reading the disc and the consoel will shut down the game and say that i must clean the disc . if i keep playing it , it will finally rrod and after waiting a few minutes with the console off it will play again for a hour or so . hope that helps
