Waiting for unrevoked3 to root my Droid incredible. Then I plan on jailbreaking my 60gb PS3.
I have a 2tb external hdd but its formatted in fat32.
I've downloaded a game about 7gb in size on my pc. How could I.get the game to the ps3 hdd,once jailbreak, if the ps3 doesn't recognize files over 4gb from external memory?? Or can games only be ripped from original disc ?
It will only play games ripped using the jailbreak, will not play games ripped in iso format. So as long as there are no single files over 4gb you'll be fine with the external. As or right now, there are 40 games out of 344 games tested that will not work from external drives for whatever reason.
If its one of the games that does have a file over 4gb, you can still transfer it from your computer using a homebrew program called ps3ftp server, along with your choice of ftp program running on your pc. The program is still i early development and tends to crash, also there's a few ftp programs that it doesn't work well with.
If your 2TB external has an esata port, you can buy a sata female to esata cable, plug that cable in where your ps3 hard drive slides in, then use it as your internal drive(even though its in an enclosure separate from the ps3), just make sure you power it on before the ps3 each time. Would relieve the space limitations your sure to run into if you plan to transfer more than a couple games to your internal drive.
You'll just need a thumb drive with 3.41 firmware on it to format the drive on your first boot.
